Local Noise is a semester long project for WGUR where we produce a mixtape and host a showcasing performance of artists from Georgia. Towards the end of each semester, WGUR hosts a night of live music in downtown Milledgeville where we also release the mixtape on our website the night of the live Local Nosie performance.

WGUR gains most of our audio for the Local Noise mixtape over the span of the semester from our Couch Concert series. WGUR finds it incredibly important to encourage art, culture and music in Milledgeville and Georgia College. Our goal with Local Noise is to enrich and nourish our community by supporting local artists.

If you are interested in being a part of Local Noise or would like more information about the event or mixtape, contact wgur.events@gcsu.edu.

We are always looking for volunteers, sponsors, and musicians. For music inquiries, please provide either 3 MP3s or a link to your original music and specify whether you are interested in the event, mixtape or both. If you are interested in being a part of Local Noise, we also encourage you reach out for a Couch Concert as well. Local Noise musicians must have original work to perform. Please keep in mind that Local Noise is managed by college students, so scheduling is made on a semester basis.
